great soap, and more eco-friendly to buy this way
We have an infant at home, so we blow through hand soap at an amazing rate. Each of these larger bottles has enough soap for two refills of a smaller dispenser bottle, so it's at least reducing the number of plastic bottles we throw in the recycling bin.
As for the soap itself, it's gentle, doesn't dry out my skin, and leaves my hands clean enough to handle a baby. This scent is milder than the others as well, just a bit of lemon and a smidge of ginger.
A few technical notes on the bottle: when refilling your dispensers, just unscrew the top of the large bottle and pour. It comes with a squeeze-top-thingie like you see on shampoo bottles, but with a liquid as thin as this soap, it just makes a mess. Also, make sure to leave enough room in the dispenser bottle for the aerator; if you fill it up all the way, when you screw the top back on, you'll end up with soap everywhere.
Awesome smell, differing quality among batches, not very soapy or thick
I've been using these for about two years. I'm a citrus addict. I love all smells citrus. Natural smelling citrus that is, not the artificial, chemical citrus smells. The Lemon and Ginger has a nicer, stronger citrus smell than the Grapefruit and Bergamot.
I love: The smell. It has a light, natural citrus smell. It's organic, not tested on animals (yay! no animals were put through cruel torture in developing this product), and less harmful to the environment than non-organic products.
I am disappointed: That the last 3-pack I got was markedly different from the previous bottles I used in terms of soapiness. They were barely soapy: a kind of watery foam, as opposed to soapy foam. This makes you feel like your hands didn't get scrubbed. So, I've been using a lot more product, washing my hands at least twice each time and using more product each time as well, just so I can feel like my hands got cleaned. You need at least two or three pumps just to be able to cover your hands while scrubbing. One pump just isn't enough as the watery foam won't spread as soapy foam does. If the next batch I get is also not soapy, I am going to stop buying this product and switch to something else.
These are also generally less thick (even the previous bottles I've bought over the last two years, not just my recent order) than any other hand wash I've used. This makes you use a lot more product and go through the bottles much quicker. It's a wonderful product if the company can maintain quality from batch to batch, and also make them thicker so you need to use roughly the same amount of product as you would with other similar products. It's more expensive than your average foam hand wash, which is ok because it is organic and I'm prepared to pay more for products that are not tested on animals. However, when you have to use more of the product (at least twice as much) per wash, this makes it even costlier, and this I feel does not have to be the case. The same company makes organic shampoos that are very soapy, so it obviously can be done.
Amazon has recently increased the Subscribe and Save price of a 3-pack from $19 to $25. Amazon used to be the cheapest place to buy this, but now with this price increase, you can find it cheaper at other online stores, even accounting for their shipping charges. I am hopeful that Amazon will reduce the price back to $19, because I prefer to do my online shopping on Amazon whenever possible.
I took one star off for differing quality among batches, and another star off because it is less thick (a consistency only a bit thicker than water) and less soapy, thus requiring a lot more product than other foam hand washes. This is the case even with the 'good' batches.
Smells great
This soap smells great. It cleans well and a little goes a long way, but its has a rather low viscosity and it tends to spill over your hands if you don't make a cup with your palm. This isn't a problem for me but I can see how it could bother others.
