Amazon.com Review
This handy over-the-sink cutting board from Island Bamboo adds workspace to the kitchen while simplifying prep steps at the same time. Fitted with a removable mesh colander made from 18/10 stainless steel, the piece lets you rinse, chop, and trim all in one spot. Reversible to reduce cross-contamination, the board is fashioned from durable, renewably sourced moso bamboo, which is harder than maple and caramelized for a lovely look. The colander removes for easy cleanup and carrying ingredients to the wok or grill. Crafted by hand, the cutting board has generous proportions and comfortable rounded corners. It is held together by food-grade bonding glue and has natural microbial properties. --Emily Bedard

Best board I have used
The bamboo seems to stand up to water better than maple and other woods I have used in the past. Of course I don't soak it or put it in the dishwasher but I do use hot soapy water and a hot rinse from the spray nozzle, then dry it off and stand it on end to further air dry. So far, after a few months of hard use, no signs of coming apart like maple boards I have had in the past. The built in strainer to scrape scraps into is a good idea. I wish it were a bit smaller so the board would have a larger chopping surface, but all in all I like it a lot. I do also use a second plastic board that goes in the dishwasher for raw poultry and meats because I'm a bit of a germaphobe. But the bamboo is far better for veggies, fruits, cooked meats.
Lifesaver
I have a tiny kitchen with challenging counter space. This cutting board doubled my work space and makes me have to keep up with the dishes because it won't work right if there are too many in there. Love it!!!!!!!!!!
Great Cutting Board
I love this cutting board. I have a double sink...so I leave this cutting board set-up all the time over one side of the double sink. When I am not using it as a cutting board I use it as counter space (like for making morning coffee or whatever) this way I get the board dirty and not so much the real counter tops...because the cutting board is much easier to clean up; just wipe the mess off into the sink below. The first one I received, had 2 small slight cracks...so Amazon replaced it immediately...but I like it so much that I decided to keep both and pay for both...so then I have backup should the first one ever break (since products seem to come and go and it might not be available later). Truthfully the 2 small cracks are not growing....and the board is put together with an edging inserted at each end?(a wood grain piece going a different way than the grain of the board and I think this will hold it together for a long time) and if the crack reaches this edging, I think this edging will cause it to stop at that point. You can hardly see the 2 cracks...and actually I like this first board more than the second one I received because this first one is slightly heavier and a smidgen thicker.....which means it stays in place better than the second one I received (as I tested them both).
