Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review
Classically shaped (center-tip style, with curved back and edge), this knife comes in handy at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In the afternoons, when no one is looking, it'll slice open a package. Classic three-rivet handles distinguish Pro S from Henckels's other quality lines, TwinStar, Five Star, and Four Star. While this paring knife is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. --Fred Brack

From the Manufacturer

The J.A. Henckels Twin Professional S (or Pro S) knife series features trustworthy quality and classic three-rivet styling--it’s a line of knives admired by both professional chefs and home cooks of all skill levels. The Twin Pro S line contains knives for all tasks, including the following open stock knife types: parer, bread, peeling, sandwich, utility, carving, steak, chef’s, Granton edge slicer, santoku, and others. Twin Pro S knives are also available in a range of block sets and gift sets, to be sure that your cutlery needs are covered.

A Reliable Standard in Knife Construction

Twin Pro S knives are precision forged from a single piece of exclusive-formula, high-carbon, no-stain steel under the all-new Sigmaforge standard. As a result, Twin Pro S knives have improved quality consistency, lasting sharpness, and perfect geometry. Sigmaforge one-piece construction also provides high precision and improved stability of the blade and steel structure, thus improving cutting-edge retention for lasting sharpness. In addition, Twin Pro S knives use J.A. Henckels’s Friodur ice hardening for corrosion resistance, a process that also contributes to cutting-edge retention.

An Ergonomic Handle for Easier Use

J.A. Henckels's Twin Pro S knives boast a comfortable, ergonomic three-rivet handle design that won’t wear against the hand and helps to provide control when doing any cutting task. These durable Novodur handles are perfectly bonded to the full tang on each knife for stability and durability. The impeccably balanced super bolster provides weight and adds balance for safer and more professional cutting.

Customer Reviews

Excellent knife, and a perfect fit5
While visiting friends in KC, I happened to try their Henckels 4-star knives and was amazed at their sharpness, balance, and comfort. I immediately decided I NEEDED to get a set of these knives.

I quickly settled on the 4-star chef's and fillet knives, but tried paring knife after paring knife without finding one that really felt right. The 4-star handle is great on the big knives (where one grips the handle with the entire hand), but didn't feel right on the paring knife; it felt like my pinky was in limbo, not meant to be on the handle, but not meant to be off it, either.

Then I tried THIS knife. The Pro-S 3" paring knife just felt *right* - it fit perfectly, it had just the right heft, and it was far more agile than the longer 4" knives. I've had it for six months and it performs exactly as I expected it to; this knife is just a joy to use.

I love the thing, but you'll probably want to do exactly as I did, trying a number of high-quality knives to find the one that feels right to you.

Henckles Pro 3 inch Paring knife5
I love my paring knife! I cook a lot of fresh vegetables and find this knife to be wonderful for peeling and cleaning them all. I have small hands and have trouble finding a knife that fells right and fits my hand. The knife is sharp, well balanced and comfortable to hold. I would recommend this product to everyone who loves to cook.

Good knife, but an uncomfortable size.3
I bought this thinking I'd be happier with it than a shorter paring knife, but I think that may have been an error. The blade itself is sharp and cuts nearly anything, but I find I use it minimally. Its too big for any high detail work, where I find myself fumbling and too small for any rougher work, where I endlessly reach for my santoku knife.

Remarkably, the only area I've found it highly effective for me is for sandwich making, where I previously used my santoku and a dinner knife. It can easily work its way through an onion or any other vegetable you'd want on the sandwich and allow for more simple tasks (like spreading condiments, cutting the sandwich, etc.) due to its nice length.
