Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review
Distinguished by 18/10 stainless-steel, satin-finish handles, Twin Select knives embody Henckels's world-renowned craftsmanship. Henckels uses a high-tech welding process to form the knives in its first-rate cutlery lines. This process combines three types of high-carbon stainless steel into a single piece so that each part of a knife--blade, bolster, and tang--performs optimally. With a broad blade and curved edge for rocking through a chopping or mincing task, this 8-inch chef's knife suits most cooks. Shaped like a gentle wave to fit the hand snugly, the ergonomically designed handle contains a full rat-tail tang and is fully watertight with no gaps. Though the knife is dishwasher-safe, it should be hand washed to protect the edge. It carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Henckels’s exclusive high-carbon, no-stain steel formula. The result is a beautiful, award-winning knife that exudes elegance and is a pleasure to use. Twin Select knives are also available in a range of block sets and gift sets, to be sure that your cutlery needs are covered.

A Higher Standard in Knife Construction

Twin Select knives are precision forged from a single piece of exclusive-formula, high-carbon, no-stain steel under the all-new Sigmaforge standard. As a result, Twin Select knives have improved quality consistency, lasting sharpness, and perfect geometry. Sigmaforge one-piece construction also provides high precision and improved stability of the blade and steel structure, thus improving cutting-edge retention for lasting sharpness. In addition, Twin Select knives use J.A. Henckels’s Friodur ice hardening for corrosion resistance, a process that also contributes to cutting-edge retention.

New Ergonomic Handle Technology

The Twin Select series features comfortable, ergonomic stainless-steel handles that accommodate each hand size while improving function, convenience, and safety. These patented handles are hygienic, colorfast, and break-proof (U.S. Patent #5791055). The quality of Twin Select can be recognized by the Zwilling J.A. Henckels logo featured on the end of the handle.

Customer Reviews

excellent kitchen companion5
I have used the same three Henckels knives for the past 10 years--a paring knife, a utility knife, and a carving knife in the Pro series--and I have been very happy with all of them. After seeing the Twin Select knives, I decided to get the 8-inch chef's knife to add to my collection. This knife is perfect for chopping and slicing. It has a nice wide blade that is nice for larger vegetables like carrots. The knife is heavier that any of my other knives but not so heavy to make using it a chore. The blade has stayed extremely sharp and the handle is contoured nicely and feels good in my hand when using the knife. My only complaint is that the handle is a bit slippery if you get it wet. Overall I would recommend it to anyone who does a lot of cooking, it makes an excellent addition to any knife collection.

Outstanding Chef Knife4
My wife has a touch of rheumatoid arthritis in her hands, and this is the most comfortable chef's knife she has found. It is nicely contoured, well-weighted, and very sharp.

That said, this is an expensive knife - you can find knives that are ALMOST as good for much less. Therefore, I rated this product 4 stars instead of five because I consider overall value to be "good" instead of "excellent".

But if that extra bit of quality is worth a LOT of extra money to you - as it was with us - you'll likely be very happy with this knife.
