A generous 14" x 20" and a sturdy 3/4" thick, this Jumbo Carving Board with Juice Well is designed for carving and serving. A wide groove along the perimeter contains the juices generated during carving, keeping your counter or table neat. You can also flip it over and use the flat side as a pastry/prep board. This beautiful carving board is practical for slicing meats yet beautiful enough to bring right to the table and serve from when entertaining a crowd. The board measures 20 by 14 inches, which is large enough to carve bigger hams or roast turkeys, and has a thickness of 3/4 of an inch, making it sturdy enough to carry heavy roasts to the table. A 1-inch-wide channel along the edge of the board catches any meat juices before they overflow onto a tabletop or cloth. The opposite side of the board is smooth and can be used as a secondary prep surface for chopping vegetables or kneading bread dough.

This environmentally-sustainable product is created from reclaimed North American hardwood that has been carefully selected for quality and purchased from mills throughout the country. The board is then hand-crafted by skilled woodworkers in Wisconsin--an area known for its rich woodworking tradition. Wood is hand-sanded and finished with a food-grade oil to protect it against cracking and warping. arrived split
This cutting board is very lightweight in person, possibly lighter than the plastic cutting board I have been using. I regret ordering this as it arrived damaged (but still shrinkwrapped!) It looked like the cutting board separated along the gluing of pieces. Hmph! Don't buy this. I am going to try to return this without losing free shipping on the entire order but you should bear in mind the hassle of returning this very flimsy collection of toothpicks before you add it to your cart.

p.s. Mercifully, Amazon is allowing the return of this item without losing free shipping. I was about to boycott Amazon because of the Catch-22 I was in.

It only lasted 2 months
I liked it at first and then after only after 2 months it started to seperate. Only has a 30 return so I did not get my $20.00 worth... Buy at your own risk

Looks much better than it actually is
This board arrived shrink-wrapped but unfinished: it was extremely rough and splintered along the channel ("juice well") that is supposed to catch drippings. Because I had a large roast to carve the next day, I kept it anyway, and sanded it smooth myself -- then sanded the entire board, because what I had sanded looked better than what the factory had done! Even though I hand-wash all my boards and knives, this one began to warp right away. Also, the channel is not deep enough, and because of the slight warp, meat drippings run toward one edge, then overflow. I now rarely use this, and will probably let it be firewood at some point. Very disappointing.
