Amazon.com Review
This small collection of knives was inspired by lively celebrity chef Alton Brown of the Food Network's Good Eats show. Brown wanted more clearance for his knuckles when the blade came in full contact with a cutting board, so KAI (the manufacturer of Shun) created a 10 degree angle between the knife handle and blade. Beautiful to look at and even more stunning to use, the knives feature the identical razor-sharp, rippled Damascus-look blades of Shun Classics, along with a choice on the paring and utility knives of either the black PakkaWood or stainless-steel handle. A cartoon drawing of Brown's face is inscribed on some of the blades, bringing his surefire wit to the chopping block. Made in Seki City, Japan, and covered by a lifetime warranty, Alton's Angles make excellent gifts for chefs with large hands, and should be carefully washed and dried by hand.
