3-set Rachel Ray Knives5
Terrific, top quality knives, that wont break your bank account. Everything in the product description is completely accurate. I plan on buying more of the Rachel Ray set in the near future. You can tell, while holding and cutting these knives they are of very fine steel and there was no reservation on making an awesome product. Buy one of the two sharpeners that are made buy the same brand they offer for these sets, the knives do some a little dull (as do 90% of anything that cuts when you first buy it).

Very Nice5
I bought these for my wife once she became interested in helping me cook. Every chef should have their own set of knives and she really liked these and mentioned them to me every time she saw them advertised. I ordered them in secret and about fifteen minutes later she looked at the bank account and the secret was out. Oh well.

The knives came and she was thrilled. The handles are made of a soft rubber which I was at first aprehensive about. I thought that as soon as the handles got wet hands would begin to slip and I would be sewing sutures into my wifes thumb. I was pleasently surprised to find this wasn't the case.

The knives are heavy but not unwieldly. The chefs knife definitly has some weight to it though which makes chopping much easier because the weight of the knife does the majority of the work. The blade and handles aren't perfectly centered on the shoulder of any of the three knives but they aren't far off either. I'm picky because my personal knives are exceptionally balanced but they also cost about 8 times as much. The chefs knife also has channels cut into the blade to allow slicing of large objects (onions and meats) to be much easier because the food doesn't bond to the blade while slicing.

My wifes only complaint was that the knives weren't exceptionally sharp. Sure, they were very sharp and cut easily but compared to the edges on mine they weren't anything special. I took the knives down to the guy who works my edges and had him sharpen my wives and now she couldn't be happier. They seem to hold an edge very well too. I had them worked on about six months ago and they are still exceptionally sharp. I highly recomend these knives.

great knives4
These knives are wonderful. My first set was in a bamboo storage box. That is very nice. This plastic case isn't quite as nice but the knives inside are great. I know that orange is Rachael Ray's signature. Personally, tho, I'd prefer a darker color.
