Kuhn Paring Knife
Great product! I like having the case for it so I don't have to worry about it with the grandkids. Very sharp and nice size!
Very Nice Paring Knife - Recommended!
The Kuhn Rikon Nonstick Paring Knife is a very good value for a quality knife. We own several of these knives in different colors for use at home and in our shop. The different colors allow us keep the ones we use to cut materials in our workshop from accidently being used for food products.
The blade is *VERY* sharp and holds it's edge very nicely. The nonstick coating on the blade is a real plus as it helps to keep the knife clean as well as to keep it moving through thicker items. The snug fitting platic sheath is a welcome addition to safely store or transport the knife.
My only complaint is the light feel of the plastic handle. It isn't flimsy exactly, just lacks heft. This might just be a personal prefference issue and it hasn't stopped me from buying more of them.
Overall this is a very good paring knife at a reasonable price. Recommended!
The color makes me smile...
...but this is a serious knife. It may not be a hundred and fifty dollar German uber-knife, but it does a great job in my kitchen.
THE BLADE is very sharp, easily able to produce thin slices of cucumber or tomato. The Teflon coating helps it to glide smoothly, even through softened cream cheese or brie.
THE HANDLE is comfortable to hold; I feel like it gives me a secure grip when I'm slicing or peeling.
THE SHEATH is perfect for protecting the blade (and my fingers) when I put the knife in a drawer. I don't like having a bulky knife block on my counter, but leaving knives loose in a drawer isn't good for them.
THE COLORS are just plain fun. Yes, it also makes sense to have knives in different colors to keep meat juices off the veggies; but the real reason I will buy multiples is that I just plain enjoy the colors.
THE PRICE is very reasonable. I keep one of these knives in the Saved For Later section of my shopping cart. It makes it easy to add one to bring an order up to the magic free-shipping threshold. Sort of like getting the knife for only a couple of dollars.
