A simply great affordable paring knife
Update: This knife is light, sharp, easy to maneuver, and pretty. This has become my go-to knife since writing this review. It's my new best friend in the kitchen. I use it so often it rarely gets back to the drawer before I need it again... and it's still cute.

My paring knife disappeared. This one was affordable and stylish. I brought it home and dropped it in a drawer. Today I had an unusually tough lime to cut, and I chose a serrated steak knife from my knife block as I knew it would be a tough job. After much sawing back and forth with the steak knife, there was a minor abrasion on the lime surface. I picked up my new, never-been-used Kuhn Rikon, fully expecting it to slip off the lime and cut open my hand... but much to my surprise it sliced cleanly through the rock of a lime, and my bartending was delayed no more! I love this little thing. I got mine at Sur La Table, where these knives were labelled, "Very Sharp!" as if to warn curious customers. The dollars are precious these days, and I think they were well spent on this knife.

An improvement on a perfect tool...
I have two of these little knives, and I could not be more pleased with them. I used to say that a good knife is the most perfectly developed manmade object known, but these knives show that there is still room for improvement.

The colors are bright and sassy. The nonstick coating makes it easy to wipe the knives clean with a cloth so you don't have to soak them, which is very useful for a knife you carry around to eat with where you might not have washup facilities. The coating is durable, too. I've been using it for cooking and eating for a couple weeks and the coating shows no signs of wear.

The sheath is a nice addition, but turns out to be absolutely necessary because the blade is an order of magnitude sharper than any other knife I cook with. The edge hasn't perceptibly dulled even after constant use. Sharpness and edge-holding are the real measures of a good knife.

I can't wait to replace the rest of my kitchen knives with the rest of this line.

Excellent knife. Lightweight and sharp. Sounds crazy but I keep it in my diaper bag to cut fruit etc. I love it because it is light and bright (easy to find) and it has a protective cover so I cannot get cut. Handles frequent use and washing well.
