RAN Damascus Yaxell knives are made in Japan using traditional methods and cutting edge technology. The center material of the blade is VG10 stainless steel, an optimum combination of metals that creates the best and most durable blade. The VG10 center is then covered by soft and hard stainless steel, folded together in to total 33 layers. The marbled "Damascus" finish on the blade prevents food from sticking, enabling clean cuts. The smooth, black micarta handle sits comfortably in your hand. The paring knife is used to trim, cut and peel vegetables, fruits and to decorate other smaller foods that can be held in your hand. Additionally, it serves for mincing herbs, scoring meats and scoring baked goods. Gift boxed. Made in Japan.
