What I'm thinking is that I could take this to a local blacksmith (yes, they still exist), and have him attach three little handles so I can hang it from the Slik Vik tripod. We could make stew, soups, chili (chilli?), pad thai, stir fry, etc, etc.

You'll need cooking utensils with long handles (heat). If you plan on making pad thai, you better get two of these.

Good for deep frying tripe, french fries, egg rolls, fish bits, etc (which you could do in the wok). And trust me. If you're not sure how to prepare whatever you brought, caught, shot, knifed, bludgeoned- just batter it, deep fry it, and serve it with ranch dressing, and they'll luuuv it!

Leave your good, expensive knives at home and rough it a bit (unless you truly can't live without your chef's knife). These are the twin Henckels, not that "single twin" crap. Reviews look good, and for the price, not a bad set of camping knives.

And after you remove the lid, you'll need something to set it on. I suppose you could just set it on the dirt, but then you risk crunchy bits of dirt in your food.

Gotta have this! You can make pie with slices of bread (with sprinkled sugar on the outside) and canned pie filling. You can also make panninis, your own campfire version of a monte cristo, and other hot sandwiches.

I don't know that you could actually use this over a campfire. For all you evil people who would love to serve sandwiches to your loved ones with the Spanish word for DEVIL printed on them, have at it (for the humor impaired- this is tongue in cheek. Come on people. lighten up).

You could probably also do this with the pie iron, but you might have to cut the hot dogs, and brats certainly wouldn't fit. This would be better. The description says you could make cornbread with this, but you could do that with the dutch over too. Heck. You could could the brats in the dutch oven too or on the griddle. But this could be fun for the little guys to hold into the fire.

Foi gras on a camping trip? Why not? (Anyone from PETA need not respond) I think for breakfast and dinner, people like a hearty, hot meal. But for lunch something fast and that doesn't need to be cooked is best. Now would I really bring foi gras camping. No, but some real foodies might (I am more of the "poseur" variety).

"Nice marmite." Jeffrey Lebowski This can be spread on toast points or crackers for a quick snack. It's basically vegemite.

Beluga would be great, but this would do fine.
