Average customer review:Product Description
Within the pages of Kungfu Basics is a complete and comprehensive introduction to this ancient Chinese fighting art. In its in-depth study of kungfu, the book includes patterns and sets, the training of internal force, and strategies for victory.
In easily understood language, the book highlights the basic elements of the style -- the stances, footwork, kicks, and hand techniques. Drills and conditioning exercises to develop speed, power, endurance, flexibiliity, and balance lend focus and power to this regimen. The book also shows students how to devise a training program and gauge their progress. These elements, designed specifically with the students' interests in mind, truly set Kungfu Basics far ahead of the martial arts pack.

Customer Reviews
Liked it, got me ready
Nice book, I have been studying choy lay fut kung fu for about 4 months and this was a great primer before my first class. Made me understand so I did not have to ask so many questions, and I truly think it accelerated my learning!
Nice book!

Know thy basics
Well written and illustrated for understanding the basics of gung fu. Sometimes in class you may not pick up the subtle differences in foot position or receive conflicting advice on what the proper stance is. This book will help in sorting out the basics. The author also does a good job of referring the reader back to their instructor when a position is interpreted differently by various styles.
A must for anyone learning or wanting to learn kung fu!!!
This is an excellent book for beginers and even experienced martial artists. Sifu Eng is an excellent teacher and puts a great deal of insight into his writing.
