Customer Reviews
Waaaaay too slow
The product was way too slow in transferring my iPhotos to the Canon printer. Sent it back immediately. Amazon was really great about the refund. No cost for mailing and a prompt credit to my credit card account.
Bluetooth, adapter for Canon All in One
This product is useless. No range, slow and not able to facilitate printing for some reason, perhaps because there appears to be no cache. The connection is made and then print job stall and do not print. Could not connect 15 feet away.
2 out of 3 AIN'T GOOD!
I just purchased the Canon BU-20 Bluetooth adapter to go with my Canon Pixma520 and Apple iMac ( which runs Leopard X 10.5) and am totally disappointed. I was trying to have as few wired connections as possible, which tempted me to buy this adapter in the first place. However, I CAN'T SCAN a single thing!!! I spent close to $50 on something that doesn't fully replace a standard $10 USB cable!
I admit I'm a little new to "bluetooth" technology, but I had no idea you could "never" transmit scans over a bluetooth connection ( as the Canon rep told me) because the data volume is too large.
In order to get the most out of your Canon printer ( and use all 3 functions) you'll still need a USB cable. So if you have an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier and actually want to get your money's worth...don't bother with this adapter...take the extra money and get a better model printer.
But if you use your printer as a network printer for multiple computers or are absolutely forced to have the printer set-up more than arm's reach away...and only plan on using it to print...then go for it!
As for me...my iMac and printer are 2" from one another on my desk....I'll find a way to hide the USB cable behind it!
Pros:
-I can successfully send/print photos from my iMac or Blackjack II with no problems or delay from any room in my apartment!
-I can make numerous copies of a document (which has nothing to do with Bluetooth, I know!)
-I ordered the adapter late Tuesday night, received it Thursday afternoon. (only to expedite the inevitable!)
Cons:
- I can't scan a single item without a USB cable! Which totally negates getting the adaptor in the first place. Thank God Amazon has a great return policy!
