Customer Reviews
Good TV, great price
I just bought this unit from Sears for $759, and it's been everything I expect. After reading the review at CNET, it appeared to be the LCD I wanted. I wasn't interested in 1080p because I'm neither a gamer or that overly concerned about seeing every blade of grass during a game. The Vizio VX37L is very adjustable as far as color - you will see reviews about its color settings out of the box (people look like they have terminal sunburn), but the unit is not only fully adjustable for red/green/blue and tint, but has a separate setting for each input (RF coax/antenna, A/V, component, HDMI) so if you like HDMI a little brighter than standard def shows, you can set it that way.
You'll also read comments around the internet about the sound quality. If you're an audiophile, just connect a sound system to the audio-out connections. For the integral speakers, the sound improves remarkably if you use an HDMI connection.
The 37-inch screen is the perfect swap if you're going from a 32-inch 4:3 unit. The picture height is almost identical, and you gain 7 inches in width to give you the 16:9 image.
If you're looking for HD on a budget, and aren't someone who must have maximum resolution, this is a very suitable television at an excellent value.
People Let's Be Real
I have heard all the negative about this LCD and I just don't understand. I purchased mine from Sears 700.00. This Vizio is an excellent LCD monitor, now I got more than I had anticipated: Internet use(surf the net and watch a game at the same time w/o twisting my neck); HDTV for sports and a few other channels, who cares about seeing every blade of grass, it is all about what marketing does to get into your head about what is good and not so or likes to think they could control your mind and tell you what is good. Like anything else, one must look at what he/she needs and will you be able to use all of the connections, for instance. I have a fairly new JVC 7.1 reciever, but it does not have the HDMI inputs(I have component), so I can't use it to the fullest capacity, but in time I will move up and do so, but it is not important now. I see people complain about the sound, but they must remember this is not a stereo LCD TV, now if you want that you must make the hook-up to your stereo system to get the full surround sound. (I did this with my CRT, Klipsch 5.2, Vandersteins;bdrm Bose 5.1 KEF and JVC
One other thing to mention, if your equipment doesn't support our ever-so-changing technology, your Vizio can not morph your stereo system into something it isn't.
PROS:
Sound: is excellent for what is in it (Bose, Klipsch, KEF, Vandersteins or Bang & Olufsen are not inside the Vizio)but they are adaquate to listen to and not hard on the ears.
Picture: great and adjustable and again I can't stress this enough, it is as good as your equipment.
Remote Control: can do everything needed and can learn to control most if not all of my equipment.
Setup: Very easy
Cons:
Now this is a knock on the industry as a whole, the (I) & (P) is frustrating, because years ago they came out with progressive scan DVD players and I had all my family and friends purchase nothing but progressive and now the LCD's and Plasma are 1080i(p). The industry is just greedy, so if you don't have DVD(HDMI input), HD-DVD or Blue Ray, your DVD players w/o HDMI will resort back to 480p just like the CRT.
Sound: none if you connect it to your stereo and if not, I've had people on the phone telling me to turn it down, again you get what you pay for.
PIP: you can only access it if you have the HDMI, Component, RGB. Why have all the connection if you can only access if you have certain equipment.
This is not the Samsung 4665F which I feel is the best on the market (when you can get it for 1800.00). Vizio is a great viewing device for the price. Do research before you purchase and talk to anyone that has the set you are looking to purchase.

Great TV!! All About Value
This is BY FAR the best value on the market for LCD HDTVs! I have one in my living room for 6 months now and haven't had a single problem with it. Compliment after compliment from family and friends (and it was cheap!).
BTW ANY 37" LCD is max 1080i, the screen is too small for 1080p.
Advice: Mount it on the mall with the mount from Vizio.com, very easy & less expensive than anywhere else(about an hour time, one strong person)
Hope this is helpful! -Mike NYC
