We found these to be the best diapers for the first 6 months. We bought cheaper diapers after our baby started eating solid food and had less explosive bowel movements. They aren't perfect, but they hold more in than any other brand we tried.

Of course you will need a car seat. I recommend an infant car seat for the first 7-8 months. It is so nice to move a sleeping baby into the house or store without waking her.

A baby gym is great for keeping babies entertained. We had this one and liked it a lot. Our daughter loved looking in the mirror and feeling the flowers during tummy time. It washed easily too.

The exersaucer was fabulous. We used it for months 4-13. It worked perfectly to keep her entertained long enough for me to take a shower or cook dinner. Choose one that is adjustable and has toys that detach for cleaning.

This ring of teething bead is great. It's small enough that little hands can hold it. My daughter could hold it in two hands so if she accidentally let go with one, it didn't drop. She played with this from 3-9 months.

The best sippy cups I found--and I tried many. They are are as spill proof as they come and easy to clean. Don't buy the ones with a straw--they are very hard to clean and kids chew up the straw.

I didn't find much difference between brands, but the knit crib sheets are better than plain. They are soft and stretch much easier. I found regular crib sheets shrunk in the wash and were hard to put on the mattress.

These are some great first books for baby. They are colorful. They will be favorites for years. Remember to read to your child early and often.

These are great for attaching toys to strollers and car seats so they don't get lost. When your baby gets older, he or she may enjoy putting them together and taking them apart.
