Editorial Reviews

Album Description
The sound of the Tibetan singing bowl is known for its healing properties and its ability to induce states of deep meditative absorption.

This cd features two recordings. In track one, a single bowl is struck softly and regularly , providing a slow and steady rhythm for deep meditation. In track two one bowl steadily hums as it is played while two other bowls ring out intermittently.

Puts you in touch with a very special place inside5
This is a fascinating recording mainly for it's simplicity.

I have been an avid meditator for many years I always loved the sound of the gong. And I find that this recording really is inducive for meditation.

True meditation music should turn you to the space of the heart, it should still and focus the mind.

The bells remind me of the meditation retreats I have taken with venerable Buddhist meditation teacher Thich Nhat Hanh. The bowls were played during meditation but also throughout the silent retreats I was fortunate to take. Every time I hear the sound, it reminds me to take a pause and breathe with ease.

I am not sure what kind of singing bowl they used for the recording but sounds like one of those authentic
7 metal singing bowls. You can generally tell the difference by the tone and the quality of the ringing.

Traditionally the 7 sacred metals a singing bowl are made of:

1-Copper (Venus)
2-Gold (Sun)
3-Silver (Moon)
4-Mercury (Mercury)
5-Iron (Mars)
6-Tin (Jupiter)
7-Antimony (Saturn)

Tibetan legend says that iron was sometimes replaced by metals from the heaven, where meteorite was
sometimes added.

In my experience, the sound of the Tibetan singing bowl is so awe inspiring because it is such a primodial sound, like the ocean of the clap of thunder.

The vibration created an exquisite space inside, but the space is not empty but full of calm and joy.

I love the singing bowl and this cd gives an hour of pure bliss. If you want to get into the "zone" while meditating or just need to relax a bit during stress at work, this cd is great!

Not all singing bowls3
For the most part I am pleased with this cd although I was initially a bit disappointed with the first track which is nothing but a single bowl being gonged at regular intervals. I tend not to use the first track for this reason- it is a bit monotonous and I was hoping for an array of chiming tibetan bowls rather than a single gong-type sound (after all they also make a gong cd). The second track is actual singing bowls and is what I had expected out of the cd. If both tracks were like this I would have rated this product a 4 or 5.
