Nice little reader board for the road or at the office4
The Roadmaster Scrolling Message Board works as advertised and for a couple of months now has held up fine, except that the unit sometimes doesn't want to start my preprogrammed sequence of phrases in freezing NY weather. There are 11 storage locations for your custom messages and thankfully these can be arranged in a sequence in any order, but be warned, the device takes a long time to program in words/phrases. The IR remote control is finicky in that you have to aim it directly at the sensor on the back (using a mirror to see the display) and a couple of the buttons already need hard presses to register a character. You can edit programmed phrases but you pretty much have to erase all words from the beginning and start over. The preprogrammed sequence of phrases is started by pressing PLAY twice. The display looks vivid at night, good at dusk/dawn but barely acceptable during daylight, and if you have a tinted rear window forget about using it during daylight hours. Overall though I am pleased with this unit - sure beats trying to find bumper stickers that say what I want to say.

Great Idea, Poor Quality1
I've had two of these. I bought the first one and it didn't work. The place I bought it from said I had to go back to the company, so I did. It took several phone calls to managers before they agreed to pay the shipping, which they thought I should pay. Finally they did send the new one out and it arrived working. I used it for a day and it stopped working again. I opened it up to try and fix it myself, but I couldn't find a problem with my multimeter. I think there is a problem with the circuitry shorting out, but much of it is too small to get my multimeter in there so I can't go far with that. I tried calling again and left my number for a supervisor several times when they kept telling me that they couldn't take it back twice. I never got a call back. I had a supervisor's direct e-mail address from the last time, but she didn't respond to several messages. Finally I declined the charge on my credit card. I've seen these working, so perhaps I had bad luck, but if yours doesn't work make sure Amazon will take it back because the company thinks these are sold "as is" regardless of what the warranty says.

Fun4
This is a fun little product. Although I don't know if it is quite legal to have something like this sitting in your back window. But it works quite well. The only thing that would make it better would be a plug for home/work.
