About the Author

Masanori Ookamigumi Katakura made his manga debut as the artist for GENOCIDER MAMI, a three-volume collaboration with writer Takeshi Narumi. Katakura wrote and illustrated his next work, GO DA GUN, which was serialized in Japan's Monthly Shonen Jump and concluded after 16 volumes. Katakura's most recent series, MAHOTSUKAI KUROHIME first appeared in Monthly Shonen Jump extra in 2000, and has been running in Monthly Shonen Jump since 2003. The enormous popularity of the series led to the creation of a KUROHIME game for the PS2, released in Japan in March 2006.

Excellent New Series from Shonen Jump
Kurohime is one of the newest manga to hit the scene. It is a product from Shonen Jump, thus I tried it out. It has great artwork, excellent comedy, and some really cool and unique battles. It's story is pretty straightforward at first, but it will vastly develop in future volumes. Overall it's an excellent new series that stands next to my current series' of Shonen Jump manga. If your a fan of wild west shooting, mythical creatures, dragons, and magic in a world where the bad guys are really bad and the girls are really beautiful, then this is a manga for you.
