Things that SuckThings that Suck by Jason Kaplan

There are probably enough reviews for this on Amazon already, so I'll refer you to the other readers and simply say that if you buy it, I hope you like it.
KitchenAid KFPW760WH 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor, WhiteKitchenAid KFPW760WH 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor, White
Buy new: $179.19
I like to cook, but I hate to clean. This food processor has a nice, large bowl, a convenient smaller bowl for little jobs, great attachments, and it is easy as h*ll to clean. Very simple design with no ridiculous spaces for food to drip into. And the motor is amazingly quiet...unlike that loud mini-chopper you probably got at Costco.
Coppertone Continuous Spray SPF #50 Sport 6 oz. SweatproofCoppertone Continuous Spray SPF #50 Sport 6 oz. Sweatproof

Being hairy sucks. So does melanoma. Kill two birds with one stone and use this awesome misting sunblock. It sprays on clear and you don't have to rub it in; a bonus for my fellow hirsute hikers. The Neutragena version offers a high SPF, too, but it's way too greasy. These mists all empty out too quickly for the price, but they're still the best think going.
Amco Utility Locking Tongs - 12-InchAmco Utility Locking Tongs - 12-Inch
Buy new: $7.95
I can't even remember what my kitchen was like before my tongs. Extremely versatile. And don't assume that because a pair costs more it's better. This Amco model is my favorite because the locking mechanism works with a twist of the tongs, requiring only one hand. Well-made and no extraneous plastic parts so they're easy to clean.
Kensington Noise Cancelling Headphones ( 33084 )Kensington Noise Cancelling Headphones ( 33084 )
Buy new: $18.99 / Used from: $22.95
I can't really speak to the other models on the market, and honestly I can't say I'd want to shlep a huge pair of headphones with me on a flight, let alone pay 200 bucks for them. But this inexpensive model has been phenomenal. It folds away compactly and really helps me sleep better or hear a movie way more clearly over the roar of the engines. I never leave them home.
Garmin nüvi 200W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS NavigatorGarmin nüvi 200W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator
Buy new: $299.99 / Used from: $90.00
I got this as a gift and happen to love it. Logical menus, clear maps, good search capabilities and basically invaluable for a yutz like me who gets lost regularly. The price is right. My only wish at this point is to add traffic updates...not sure if it's possible with this model. Just be sure to pay attention and don't crash into anyone. I'm serious.
Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset [Retail Packaging]Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset [Retail Packaging]
Buy new: $37.99
There's no getting around what a dork you're going to look like using basically any of these things. And as of July in California, you'll need to be hands-free in your car by law. So until something cooler comes along, you may as well use one that actually works. And this is it. But if I see you walking into Starbucks talking so loud that we all have to listen...you're gonna get smacked.

Assuming you can find one that isn't defective, this glorified garage door opener is a very good solution for going hands-free in your car. I picked mine up at Costco for $39. Granted it can be a little buggy at the outset, but you can't do much better for the price. That is, unless you go the ear-piece route and look like a crewmember on the Enterprise. Dork.
KitchenAid KSM150PSWH Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, WhiteKitchenAid KSM150PSWH Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, White
Buy new: $233.99 / Used from: $220.00
I'm starting to feel like a shill for KitchenAid, but I'm kind of a fan of this mid-range mixer. Given the choice, I'd probably choose it over the 600 Series. I prefer the tilting head versus the crank-up, and the stronger motor with such a small price bump edges out the entry level version. Don't ignore the refurbished ones either...you can spend the savings on the ice cream attachment.
