Excellent - unbelievable price
Too good a price to be true? I decided to try it and see. The hoist I received (very quickly) is the same as the one I bought from Performance Bike (a local bike shop with an Internet presence) years ago, for much more money. High quality.

The picture they use shows the rack incorrectly installed, not using the rear wheel pulley. In use it is the same as the other products shown when browsing Amazon.

This is my 2nd hoist style rack, so I already knew what I was doing during installation. Other than having to work over my head (which I do not like) installation was easy. After measuring and marking where the screws are to go, I pilot drill the screw holes.

I always have some spare old inner tube around, so I wrapped a small piece (about 1 inch by 1 inch) around the rope where it is tied off at one end of the hoist and fed through the metal plate. Not needed, but I feel more comfortable that the rope is not being chafed there, now.

An excellent product at an incredible price. What a concept!

SmartRack Ceiling Mounted Bike Lift - Excellent Value
THe SmartRack Ceiling Mounted Bike Lift and Hoist are worth every penny. The units (I purchased two) were easily installed and work like a charm. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I've purchased expensive wall mounting racks and even though they served the purpose, the rubber pads would eventually wear out and leave marks on my bikes...not to mention, it was always a challenge to arrange bikes on a multi-bike rack. I still have the wall racks, for my cheaper bikes, but I really like these hoists.
