Stephanie Meyer's teen-vampire romance offers an appealing heroine in Bella, transplanted from sunny Phoenix to the wet, dreary town of Forks, Washington, and the seductive, secretive object of her obsession, Edward, who may or may not be a vampire. Predictability doesn't keep this spine-tingling tale from being fun, but alas, Ilyana Kadushin's reading, does. Her speaking voice is thin and underdeveloped, and any sense of nuance is nonexistent. Kadushin doesn't try to give the characters personalities, so distinguishing between speakers is difficult. This is one of those rare times in audiobook listening when the writing exceeds the reader's capabilities. Glittering Vampires?????
When I first read this book I loved it instantly. I thought it was so cool and romantic, until I read it for the second time. Glittering Vampires? Who comes up with stuff like that anyway? Edward has no personality at all and is obsessed with kepping Bella safe. I don't see why he is so attracted to Bella besides the fact that she smells good. Bella is whiny and weak which can get really annoying. She can't live without Edward or she'll jump off a cliff. Wow. This book has serious flaws.

Blown away
I usually read Thriller/Romance Novels. Heard about this saga in my used book store and never dreamed I'd read this type of story but so glad I did. I absolutely loved it. Never have I finished a book in 2 days but its true I could not set it down. I carried it everywhere I went.
I was holding my breath at the end. Stephenie is an amazing writer. Can't wait to start the next one. By the way I'm 60.

Why can't people just enjoy a good book!
Personally, I tried very hard to resist Twilight. I generally don't go for Young Adult Lit., and I generally don't go for fads. But, I gave in. And I am not ashamed to say, I loved it! I love all the books. What I don't get is why people cannot just take these books for what they are...stories. I highly doubt Stephanie Meyer was aiming at the Pulitzer Prize when writing this series. So, why does every pretentious wanna be book critic on here have to rip them apart for not being literary masterpieces? Why can't people just enjoy a good book because it is that...a good book? Maybe there are some crazies out there who feel like they can never fall in love with a real man now that they have met Edward Cullen. But so what? There are always going to be people who think fictional lives are better than their own lives. That doesn't take away from what these books are. GOOD STORIES; a good escape from the everyday boredom of life. Isn't that what books are supposed to be? If the only reason you read a book is because you are waiting to rip it apart, you should just quit reading. Reading is entertainment, and these books are highly entertaining. I think Meyer's should get her props and everyone should just shut up about the supposed lack of literary merit.
