The Citizen Watch Brand

The company was established in 1924. The founding fathers selected the name Citizen so it would be "Close to the Hearts of People Everywhere" and soon after adopted the company's formal name, Citizen Watch Company.

During the last seventy-five years Citizen has expanded its business throughout the world and has achieved recognition as the global brand. The past twenty-five year period has coincided with the company's dramatic rise to its current position as the world's largest watchmaker, a distinction Citizen has held every year since 1986.

Beyond sheer size, Citizen is also recognized as a worldwide leader in advanced technology. From the world's slimmest LCD watch to the first voice recognition watch and the world's first professional dive watch with an electronic depth sensor, Citizen's record of "world's firsts" is unmatched.

More recently, Citizen has staked out a new position as the leader in Ecologically Friendly timekeeping with its Eco-Drives watches that are light powered. With models ranging from dress models to sports models to professional dive watches, Citizen Eco-Drive runs continuously in any kind of natural or artificial light for a lifetime of use. Fueled by light, it never needs a battery.

My husband loves this!5
I got this for my husband for Father's Day and he says it is the best gift ever!

Nice watch but bracelet is leaves me wanting more4
The Citizen Nighthawk is a nice looking watch with some nice features. I think it's a very good value for the money. The face is a good size and it looks good for either dress or casual. Some reviews state that it's heavy but I don't find it to be too heavy. My other watch is a Seiko automatic which is heavier so perhaps compared to a regular quartz watch this one may be heavy. In my opinion, here are some of the pros and cons.

Pros:
- No battery required
- large face, good look for either dress or casual.
- slide rule if you want it.
- 24 hour hand can be used to keep time in a different time zone
- you can adjust only the hour hand if you want. Very nice feature if you travel frequently.

Cons:
- bracelet feels pretty cheap. I would have given it five stars except for this.
- No day of week. I knew that before I bought it but it's a feature I miss on this watch.

Mighty Fine Watch4
This is simply one of the most beautiful watches I have owned. The attention to detail and finish are top-notch. I have many higher dollar watches, and aesthetically, this tops most of them.

I agree, a stopwatch would be a nice addition. I don't know where you would put it.

It is massive, but I am too, so I wanted it to be. Some reviewers called it "heavy" but I don't find it particularly so.

I'm not giving it five stars because the band feels cheap. It isn't going to break, that's clear. It isn't going to fall off either, with the clasp lock.

Regardless, this watch is an immediate favorite of mine. Thanks for offering it at such a great price, Amazon!
