Not what we were looking for
My daughter has been wanting a doctor kit since playing with an 20-some year old one of my husband's at her grandmother's house, so her grandmother gave her this one for Christmas. What a disappointment. The toys don't each have their own little niche--they just get thrown in the toolbox-shaped container. The uncomfortable stethescope buds are far too big for her 4-year-old ears, and just play a fake heartbeat sound, rather than actually working like the ones of my generation. The syringe only slides at the very bottom, the beeper does nothing (the buttons are too hard for her to press), the blood pressure cuff's squeeze bulb is too stiff and large for her hand, and the cuff itself is an uncomfortable not-very flexible plastic. The colors are unattractive to her and she can't open or close the stiff, unintuitive clasps of the huge carrying case.

My son LOVES this
My son received this as a birthday present and loves it. The pager needs batteries (which the previous poster should probably install...it will help it work) The stethoscope actually DOES work beyond the "heartbeat" sound....

My 3 year old gives it two thumbs up!!

Poorly designed
When I came home from Target with this item I checked out the reviews on Amazon. It didn't get good reviews but because there were only 3 other people who reviewed it I decided to keep it as a Christmas present and decide after opening it.

I should have returned it right away. Everything is very poorly designed. The needle the stem doesn't automatically pop back up after being pressed so that the little ones can have an easy time using it. The two pieces also come apart. One piece is bound to be misplaced. The pressure needle on the blood pressure cuffs don't really move properly when you're pressing on it. As mentioned by other reviewers, the ear pieces on the stethoscope don't really fit in your ears properly (toddlers or adults).
