Customer Reviews

Disappointing. No Detailed Instructions.2
I'm fairly disappointed with this book - it claims to be a "guide" to scratch building, but most of it is really just a long-winded discussion about scratch-building in general terms. There are very few specific instructions on how to do things. An example: there is a chapter dedicated to "Covering" but it provides no instructions on how to actually cover your model, it just discusses different covering materials. Most of the chapters are like this. It's not all bad (the chapter on assembling finished parts is fairly good and there are a lot of good tips throughout the book) but it will not teach you how to scratch-build a model if you've never done so before.

Informative4
Very informative, lots of helpful hints but no definitive plans
