Customer Reviews
Truly groundbreaking - a first class Latino fusion project.
This album is one of the best Latino albums I've heard in years, and I listen to and own quite a lot of Latino records, both old and new. This group are to 2008 what Santana was in the 70s: they offer an exciting, up-to-date brew of Latin styles that congeal into the most powerful sound around. The thundering percussion throughout is unrivalled in contemporary rock music - be sure to play it loud, and if your vecinos complain, invite them a la fiesta! The infectious 'Bacalao con Pan' alone is worth the price of the whole CD, but there are lots of other gems, too. Muy rico, muy caliente, sobresaliente!
Can't stop tapping my toes
From the first song on the album, I was hooked. The energy and the talent of Grupo Fantasma is overwhelming.
Having seen them on Austin City Limits, I had been impressed with the group, especially how tight their performance was. They have great talent top to bottom, and they genuinely look to be having a great time. They don't have a lot of albums out there right now, but this is is definitely representative of their quality.
Grupo Fantasma
This summer I saw Grupo Fantasma live at the Montreal Jazz festival. They gave a very good performance which compelled me to purchase this c.d. The tracks are upbeat and engaging. There is a good mix of vocals and soloing with the different instruments. I will definitely look into buying more of their albums.
