Completely useless
Moving the rake through the litter is difficult and it dumps about a quarter of the clean litter into the trap. I have to use a litter scoop to move the clean litter through the rake so it can slide to the end and it doesn't get dumped. It's an awful lot of work compared to scooping manually. If you are going to use a ScoopFree system, I highly recommend [...] instead of the expensive, disposable trays.

Great box
I love this litter box, but don't like the Fresh Step crystal litter that it comes with. We just dump out the crystal litter and use our normal clay litter, which seems to rake and control odor much more efficiently!

disappointed
Unless you manually slide the grate as often as possible, the odor is not controlled well and the urine is not absorbed completely. I have one of the Scoopfree automatic litter boxes and love it. It really does cut down on the maintenance, scooping and odors. I have 3 cats and do enjoy the freedom it has given me and will have to get more of the automatic boxes. It's just a little expensive and then I also got the Forever litter box liner to prevent leakage, but in the end, I guess they will pay for themselves.
