Customer Reviews

best indoor active play toy4
I got this slide for my daughter when she was 16 months old. We needed a toy for her to climb -- so instead of saying, "Don't climb this!" we could say, "Go climb that!" We were also facing a winter in the Northeast when playground play might not always been possible.

This toy is great for physically active children. My daughter uses it every day (a claim I can make for only a few toys). She particularly loves slide (of course) and the basketball hoop.

I don't love that the basketball is not to scale with the soccer ball and the football, and I don't love that there is a hole on top, ostensibly for throwing the football through, but it is irresistible to toddlers as something to throw themselves through! Not withstanding such a head bonk, we are very pleased with this toy.

I am optimistic that she will be able to use this for several years to come (my guess is that it would work for an average-sized 4 year old) and that it will lend itself to pretend play as well. There is a hole to climb through so that the child is under the slide. It is supposed to be used as a soccer goal, but I think it would make a nice entrance to a fort.

I will also note that assembly required brute force and liquid dish detergent as lubrication.

Great Outdoors or Indoors4
This poduct was used for my own children as well as daycare children. It is easy to put together and the children love it!!

Best for very young children4
We purchased this for our son when he had just turned 18 months. We knew he was too young to do much with it, and sure enough, other than playing with the score hands on the side and the balls that came with it, it pretty much sat.

Then he started to try to climb the ladder at about 2 years old. Since we don't have a home with stairs, it was a good learning experience for him. Over the next six months, he managed to climb to the top platform on his own, but was afraid of the slide. Finally at about two and a half, he went down the slide. After that, he loved playing on it. (Although he thinks the score hands are a clock and has long since lost the balls.)

He's now almost three and still has fun with this toy. It has been outside on our deck for most of that year and a half and is in really good condition. The stickers are still on! No cracking and it's still really stable.

The suggested age is up to age 8. I would have to disagree. My son is almost 40" tall and weighs 36 pounds. No way will he be using this when he is eight! If you have a small child you may make it longer than we will, but I'm guessing our son will outgrow this before his fourth birthday. To give perspective on the size, in the picture the little boy is about the same height as our son.

Overall, it was a good toy for active play.
