Great Song5
This is great song that reminds me of all the great 80's anthemic rock songs, but with a very current sound. David Cook has a great voice. I am now curious as to what the rest of the album will sound like. Admirable first effort.

A Biased David Cook Fan5
I have to preface this with, I am a huge David Cook fan and it would take a lot to make me not like anything that he puts out. This man honestly could sing the phone book and I would be very happy. Being a fan of David's pre-idol music, I was a little concerned about how he would play to the masses. But, this song is the perfect transition song. It has a message and really does show off that beautiful instrument that is his voice. It does come off as somewhat over produced, but that aside, just listen to the vocals and you can tell that he will be a force to be reckoned with. I for one cannot wait until November 18th.

Great start5
So here's the first "real" single for David Cook, not counting the winning song from Idol. I think it does a great job of bridging that gap between TV and the real world. It's rock anthem-ic and goes for that big arena sound, with lots of guitars and a driving beat.

It's catchy as all get out and there's great use of that voice - nice range, different inflections, that unique/pretty tone. Doesn't hurt that the song was written by Chris Cornell and produced by Rob Cavallo. There's a lot going on here that can only be fully appreciated through some really good headphones -- but that doesn't stop it from being a great "driving with the windows down and the volume up" type of song too!

Great start and I'm looking forward to the album, especially the tracks that David's written himself.
