Smaller then it looks but great
This item appears in the picture to be larger then it actually is. I bought it originally planning to store two 5 lb bags of flour in it ... however it only ended up being large enough for one 5 pound bag of flour. i will have to find something else to use this piece for, most likely a cookie jar as i neede one of those as well.
Watch out with this line as the sizes listed i.e 21.1 cups seem like alot but typically are less then you expect.

Excellent for Opened Food Storage
I use 10# cans to store a lot of long term (20+ years) food stuffs. Once they're opened I have a simple plastic round lid for them like you'd find on a Crisco can. These are uselss in keeping air and bugs out. I've found that this 21.1 cup container holds all the contents of a 10# can without any excess. I plan on lining my cupboards with these beauties.

CONTAINER WAS NOT AIRTIGHT AS ADVERTISED! ANTS GOT INTO THE CONTAINER AND I HAD TO THROW THE WHOLE CONTAINER OF SUGAR AWAY! THE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU ADVERTISED IS NOT CORRECT! DO NOT STORE SUGAR IN THEM OR ANY SWEETS BECAUSE ANTS OR OTHER BUGS WILL GET IN!
