Better than the anime!
I have to say that the production work that went into the OST seems to be better than the work that went into the story of the animation. Lush and sweeping with overarching orchestration and choir pieces. The Cain & Abel power piece will sweep you to the heavens and the Requium and other quiet, contemplative pieces will still your soul, if only for a little bit. Kresnik captures the power and majesty of Abel when he transforms into his more terrifying form. Even if you felt that the anime itself was a bit wishy washy or a blatant rip-off of other vampire genre pieces in the manga world, I would still strongly urge the purchase of this CD for the great work Tomoki Hasegawa has put into it.

Brilliant Soundtrack
This is one of the most beautifully composed soundtracks for an anime that I have ever had the pleasure of listening to... period. If you are a fan of the show, of course listening to this will have much more of an effect on you, but even if you've never watched the anime and are just a lover of good music this is a great CD for you. There is a nice balance of action themes and beautiful orchestral pieces to satisfy. Unfortunately there are, as with most anime soundtracks, some throw away tracks that are easilly skipped over and forgotten. These are the more upbeat, happy-like tracks, and while good in their own right, outside the show they arent really all that great to listen to casually. Overall, I think this is would be a wonderful addition to your collection for all you soundtrack lovers out there. peace
