Customer Reviews
The Romeros are remarkable!
Rodrigo is probably best know for his Concerto de Aranjuez for solo guitar (which Pepe Romero has provided the definitive recording of), but he also wrote the magnificent Concerto Andaluz for four guitars and Concerto Madrigal for two guitars. The Madrigal is performed wonderfully by Pepe and Celin Romero. They share a strong musical bond and seem to feed musically off of each other throughout the concerto. The Andaluz is here in its definitive recording. It was recorded and premiered by the Romeros in the late 60's but Rodrigo later added a wonderful cadenza section to the second movement which adds to its great emotional and musical impact. All in all, a great CD that I highly recommend.
Guitars and More Guitars
The Romeros have long been considered the First Family of Classical Guitar; this album helps demonstrate why. Anyone who loves the classical guitar will love this collection of beautiful music for six strings (well, techically 24 strings; but who's counting?)
Los Romeros CD "Rodrigo: Concerto Madrigal.."
As of big fan of Pepe Romero and Los Romeros, this is one of the best CDs ever made by them! Joaquin Rodrigo was so inspired by Los Romeros that he wrote this incredible music just for them. It's hard to find words to describe the music in this CD other than beautiful and perfect. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS CD - 5 star quality!!
