Two rare albums4
In case you're not familiar with Sabicas (1912-90), he was one of the greatest flamenco guitarists of the 20th century and a major influence on all his successors, most notably Paco de Lucía.

I don't possess this album, but the track listing in the Product Description reveals it to be a compilation drawn from two LPs which I do possess, released as CDs (as far as I'm aware) only in Japan, whence I obtained my copies: they are "Olé" (Universal POCF-2001) and "Flamenco!!" (Universal POCF-2002).

The titles don't really convey anything unless you know the underlying flamenco rhythms, which are as follows:

01) Guadalquivir
02) Soleares «Alma Gaditana»
03) Alegrias «Compases flamencos»
04) Zapateado
05) Granaínas «Peña La Platería»
06) Danza Mora «Ensueno arabe»
07) Siguiriyas «Taconeo gitano»
08) Malagueña «Torremolinos»
09) Fandangos de Huelva «El conguero»

10) Alegrías «Variaciones de Alegrías»
11) Bulerías «Embrujo Sevillano»
12) Soleares «Mi Soleá»
13) Gallegadas «Piropo a Galicia»
14) Malagueña [Lecuona]
15) Tarantas «Ecos de Linares»
16) Siguiriyas «Duquelas de Triana»
17) Rondeña «Viniendo del alba»
18) Villancicos «Villancicos de Jerez»

The present selection comprises most of the tracks from the two albums mentioned, but two tracks are missing: incomprehensibly, for the total time for both complete albums is only 73'22"; hence four stars only. The missing tracks are:

Colombiana «De los rizos de tu pelo»
Farruca «Campanitas»

But if you don't want to go to the trouble and expense (which is quite hideous) of ordering the individual CDs from Japan, this appears to be a good substitute.

The Japanese CDs are explicitly labelled mono, but in fact both albums are stereo, with many numbers immaculately double-tracked in Sabicas's usual fashion.
