attractive boots
I bought these boots in gold, black croco, and camel. I ended up returning the camel, which are a bit darker than pictured in the photo. The dark areas are the same color, but the lighter, cream color is more of a tan. They were still attractive boots and I did consider keeping them, however, they were not a color that I would wear regularly. All three of these colors are very ornamental and textured - they are dressy boots that aren't going to match every outfit unlike your basic pair of black boots. However, they are great for a special occasion or for adding a punch of wow to an otherwise basic outfit - I'm going to try wearing the gold and the black croco boots with an all black outfit, and some gold accessories.

The black croco matches the picture very well, and of the two I kept, I prefer this pair. They are GORGEOUS. I would absolutely recommend this color. This pair has enough gold shine in it to match brown as well as black outfits. I tend to prefer dark toned colors however, so this is just my preference. The texture, I agree with the previous review, is not great close up - however, as long as you're not bending down to put them on, and you're viewing them from typical standing height, they look fantastic. From that distance, the texture adds interest and intricacy to the boots. The texture can make it too busy looking, so try to keep the rest of your outfit basic and don't overdo it on the accessories.

I don't think I would have bought the gold pair if I had seen it in person. In the picture, it has a subtler shine and color than it does out of the box. I thought it was absolutely beautiful in the picture and was seduced by what I thought was the subtle, matte texture, color, and shine. The colors in the curlique pattern are much brighter and less gold than in the picture. The boot's gold color overall is less of the dusky, dusty dark gold, and more of a brighter and orangey gold than pictured. However, they are still attractive enough for me to keep, since I don't want to pay half the price of the boot in shipping costs. And again, everyone has their own color preferences. Keep in mind that these aren't the same texture as the black croco and are rather all velvet. But they have plenty of interest and texture because of the pattern and shine, so like the black croco, these aren't everday boots.

In terms of fit and comfort, I wear a 6 1/2 and tried sizes in both 6 and 7. The 6 was waay too small. The 7 is fine, but I would even consider getting an 8 next time, because the fit is just a tiny bit tight when wearing very thin socks, and I'd like to be able to wear thick socks or put in my own insoles with these boots, since the sole doesn't have much padding. The heel is a good height. I don't think I could be on these all day walking around, but they're fine for several hours of being up on your feet. I think the shaper in the heel might have gotten squished or out of shape. It kept poking and scraping against my skin, but after a bit of pushing and prodding it was perfectly fine.

Overall, not the most comfortable boots I've ever worn, but not actually uncomfortable. The build quality is more than acceptable for the price. (I got them when they were 31$ each). I would have licked a more cushy sole, but for the price and look, it is more than worth it. I'd be hard pressed to find boots of this look and quality for this price elsewhere.

A fierce look
I was so excited to get this boot, particularly since I'd gotten it at about 30% off of retail by shopping through Amazon. Although close-up (very close) I did not especially care for the fake fur look with gold strips interlaced through-out, when I wore them to work with an all black outfit, I got rave reviews all day long. They were also comfortable to wear. This isn't a boot you'd wear every day, but when you want to make a big splash. For those not faint of heart, go for it!
