Excellent quality solar light5
I have been burned on previous purchases of solar lights, especially the Home Depot Malibu lights. After installing the Westinghouse lights I chucked the Malibu lights. These lights are totally different. First: their brighter. I would guess about 2 to 2-1/2 times brighter. Granted, they have two LEDs, but that is a design shortcoming with the Malibu units. Second: they glow white, not warm white but neutral white. Much cleaner looking. Third: construction. The housing is stainless steel, most likely a 303 or 304. Excellent corrosion resistance. The bulb is glass, not plastic, which clouds-up as it ages. The electronics are well protected from the elements and will last a long time. The stand-offs are thin walled tubing which I cut in half for a neat, low look. The spike is a casting, most likely a zinc composition and is suprisingly strong. A black plastic adapter screws onto the spike which accepts the standoff and light assembly. I remove these from the spike when mowing the lawn.
Only suggestion: Wax the stainless "shade" and the stand-off with an automotive polish at least two times to maintain that clean, polished look. Almost forgot, charge the batteries (Nicads, two per unit) every so often to keep them at peek performance.

Solar Lights4
I ordered these lights because I thought Westinghouse to be a really good brand name. I was right. I put these lights out in my yard and they work great. I have had other brands but these are top performer's. The light they put off is a perfect fit for my sidewalk. They give off plenty of light for my needs, and are much brighter and last longer nightly than several other brands I have tried. They are also alot better built and tougher than other's I've tried.

Pretty and long lasting5
These have held up very well and are quite attractive to boot. Some solar lamps I have tried quit working very quickly. These made it all the way through the winter and half of the next summer and they are still glowing cheerfully if I look outside when I am up using the bathroom at 3:00 am.
