This lavishly illustrated paperback is a must for every Cowboy fan. It tells the story of Tony Romo, who literally came out of nowhere to lead the Dallas Cowboys back to respectability and Super Bowl contention, after years of mediocrity.

Owner Jerry Jones went through the likes of Tony Banks, Quincy Carter, Anthony Wright, Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoerner, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson, Vinny Testaverde, and Drew Bledsoe trying to find "America's Next QB" after the retirement of Troy Aikman.

Undrafted and relatively unknown, Romo was signed as a free agent by the Cowboys in 2003, and was relegated to the bench until Head Coach Bill Parcells put him in at halftime of a game against the New York Giants in 2006. Romo lost that game, but he had a flair for making plays. He led the Cowboys to victory in five of their next six games; the team finished 9-7 and earned a wild-card spot in the playoffs.

Tony went on the Pro Bowl and as of this writing, has led the Cowboys to an 11-1 record in the 2007 season (having just beaten the Packers in Dallas). The Cowboys look to have the inside track for home field advantage in the NFC throughout the '07 playoffs and are a legitimate Super Bowl contender (their only loss so far was to the likely AFC Super Bowl representative, the 11-0 New England Patriots).

Much of the credit for the Cowboys' resurgence is attributed to Tony, but credit must also be shared with former head coach Bill Parcells, who put many of the pieces of the team together, as well as new head coach Wade Phillips, with his more relaxed coaching style and more agressive 3-4 defense, as well as new OC Jason Garrett, who isn't afraid to open up the Cowboys attack to make full use of Romo's strengths as well as the abilities of weapons like WR Terrell Owens and TE Jason Witten.

This book follows Tony from high school in Burlington, WI to I-AA Player of the Year at Eastern Illinois to his years of riding the pine in Dallas. It shows that perseverence and belief in yourself pays off, as Romo continues to play, while many other QBs drafted in 2003 are out of the league. Quick: how many of the following do you recognize?

Fast and Fun Read
This book is an easy and quick read. It provides both a photographic and descriptive background, with insight into the man behind the helmet.

A must buy for any Tony Romo fan.

Very many excellent pictures. General introduction to the Dallas Cowboys. Very easy to read. Paperback cover, but thick. Thick nice paper. Very colorfull, good setting, and well presented. Starts with young high schooler Romo and finishes with his greatest 2007 performance with the Cowboys up to his new contract extension of $67.5 through 2013. As the author states: "Tony Romo, the player that no Division I wanted, and the one I-AA program that did offered only a partial scholarship. Tony Romo, the player 32 NFL teams passed on the draft seven times each. Tony Romo ... America's Next Quaterback." With diligence, working hard and belief, you can reach farther than the stars. Excellent example for young readers. Tony Romo is a leader. Buy it! Enjoy it!
