For centuries, the ceremonial evocation of spiritual beings has been Magic's darkest corner. Reputed to fulfill the Magician's material desires, evocation has been the topic of the most famous Grimoires---the Grammars of Magic. From the Sworn Book of Honorius the Magician, to the Greater Key of Solomon and the Goetia; from the Grand Grimoire, to the complete treatise of the Lemegeton, all give direct, yet difficult, directions to the individual desiring to have the 'good life' in the here-and-now.
But the simplest of Grimoires, the Heptameron of Peter de Abano, has escaped the attention of modern Ceremonialists. Its simplicity and power in summoning the Aerial Spirits is second to none.
Ceremonial Magic lays bare the operation of the Heptameron. Its Magical Axioms, extensive Commentaries, copious notes, and personal instructions to the reader---all gained from Dr. Lisiewski's forty-years of study and practice in Ceremonial Magic---make this a resource that no serious student of Magic can afford to be without. It is all here, as in no other Grimoire. Use its instructions and the world of evocation and personal gratification are well within your grasp!

Magic
This book describes an "easier" way of performing ceremonial magic, specifically summoning demons. It doesn't require all the tools of the trade that are normally associated with this form of magic, which makes it simpler. I am impressed that the author points out the main flaws in general with today's ceremonial paths. They texts were written for a reason, not to be changed and the author points out the reasons they should not be changed and that they should be performed as written to get the desired result.
Principles of Magic in Action
This is the first book that I ever read that really showed me how a personal system of magic is truly built. Dr. Lisiewski uses the Heptameron grimoire to illustrate the rigorous thought process which must proceed magical operations if they are to succeed. He may be very emphatic at times, but he does so to minimize confusion as to the importance of the issues at hand. This book is about the thought processes and the attitudes that come together in the magician to make sure that no false steps are taken, that every part of any ritual undertaken is fully comprehended. Intellectual understanding is not what magic is about. It is about experience, and experiences of this kind are a serious business where there is no room for errors of carelessness. This book points the way and acts as a guide along the way. Be glad it's there.
Too much drivel
I was really looking forward to reading this book when it arrived but towards the end there were times when I felt like taking my own life. Don't worry Christians, it was mainly through boredom and frustration.
The author has revealed to the occult world that he does not understand the basics i.e. The Microcosm and Macrocosm are the same.....?
He seems intent on insisting that the spirits are outside only, talk about missing the point. Just because it's western esoterica does not mean we are not actively involved and awakening latent forces.
Seems like Joseph is a god boy who wants to go to heaven and insists on bringing spirit into the body to acheive his fantasy.
He also insisted on talking about the ten commandments!?
To be honest much of the book is actually good. If the author grew some basic understandng of his own relationship with 'spirit' it would have been a very good book.
Sorry but I also think the author has got several friends to print reviews, tempting for him I suppose but obvious.
