Customer Reviews
the lesser weevil
Okay, so it isn't actually a weevil. Nor is it evil, in case you didn't get the pun. In fact, i'm pretty stoked that it's all-natural and sweetened with stevia and lo han guo. The taste is decent, and it's refreshing.
That said, you have to make your drink at least half an hour in advance, shaking (or stirring) it repeatedly, or the bloody powder won't dissolve, and you'll have a weak beverage that's chalky to the feel, with sediment on the bottom of your bottle and lumps floating around throughout it. The fact that they claim nothing about "instant" mixing is no omission, but it'd be nice if they were a little more forthcoming. "Mix well at regular intervals for 30 minutes."
No More Leg Cramps
As an avid cyclist riding in the heat of Texas, I frequently battled muscle cramps during and after rides - sometimes lasting 30 minutes and days of soreness. To reduce cramps I tried reducing my caffeine in-take 1-2 days prior to long races and increasing the in-take of liquids (primarily water). While these adjustments helped, I was careful avoiding other sports drinks that contained lots of sugar and other ingredients that were not helpful to my stomach (GI issues).
I tried Ultima Replenisher samples given to me at a race and I liked the results...although I was not very impressed with the taste (Wild Raspberry). Later I did some research on the Ultima products and found out the ingredients were fairly safe: no artificial colors, sweeteners and flavors. I also liked that these products are Gluten Free (GI issues helper for me).
I also noticed that the ingredients included: sodium, magnesium, potassium, calcium, copper and manganese which are minerals that an individual's body looses during exercise. If you are able to see a white chalky residue on your face or clothing, that's an indication that you are loosing minerals that your body needs to replace.
To my satisfaction I have been using Ultima for nearly a year and my muscle cramps have 'almost' disappear. This is definitely NOT a cure for muscle cramps but a sensible way to avoid them. I don't suffer any stomach issues and feel better to know that I'm avoiding the sugar rush (both up and down).
As far as the taste, I have tried the kiwi-strawberry, banana, lemonade and orange. For me, the best taste is the orange which I use the majority of the time but when I get tired of the flavor I use the lemonade.
Ultima Replenisher
Great after work-out drink. I work out hard, and sweat quite a bit. Afterward I drink 16 to 24 ounces of water with ultima replenisher in it. It really revives me! Only has 10 calories per serving. I like that too!!
