Having recorded what is likely the first smooth jazz in 1977 with Feels So Good, Chuck Mangione doesn't stray far from that formula on Everything for Love. Solid and decidedly mellow, Love follows Mangione's 1999 comeback, The Feeling's Back, with another chemistry lesson in jazz. Mangione's backed by largely the same band that he recorded with in the '70s, including guitarist Grant Geissman and reed man Gerry Niewood. He's updated and expanded his original smooth-jazz sound, though, with the addition of newcomer Corey Allen. The keyboardist blends well and adds obvious sparks to the group, particularly when he plays organ, as on "Amazing Grace" and several other tracks. Old fans will find lots of familiar motifs, harmonies, and rhythms associated with Mangione's writing style. "Seoul Sister" is reminiscent of "Hill Where the Lord Hides," and he even quotes "It Feels So Good" on "Peggy Hill," a song composed for the television show King of the Hill. Even before the long shadow of Feels So Good's title track, Mangione's lyrical flügelhorn was remarkable, and on Love, his horn is still expertly lyrical and his group gels as it did in the best of times. --Mark Ruffin

Ol' Chuck, Back To His Old Ways5
Chuck Mangione Does It Again. He Released another great album, packed with great music. This album is full of great music, and I just wish it would never finish. I can not get enough of this album. I always find myself humming some of these great tunes to myself during the day. All of the songs are great, but one really stands out and that song is Amazing Graze. The first time I heard it performed by Chuck on the album, it brought a tear to my eye. Go out and buy this great album, and just sit back and enjoy some great music from a great legend CHUCK MANGIONE. PLEASE KEEP MAKING ALBUMS AND WE'LL CONTINUE LISTENING TO YOUR GREAT MUSIC, CHUCK.

Nice to see Chuck back4
It's nice to see Chuck back doing what he does best-writting and performing great music. His playing sounds great(maybe even more expressive than in the past). It's nice to have Jerry Niewood back as well as Grant Geissman and Charles Meeks from the Feels So Good band. Keep up the great music Chuck!
