Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
In this compact and well-written cookbook, Maitret, a Mexican ecologist and cooking instructor, presents simple and easy-to- follow recipes devoted to ovo-lacto (egg and dairy) vegetarian dishes. The first part is devoted to providing information for readers who wish "to know how to eat for better living" and includes sound nutritional advice. The second presents 60 menus for a quick and foolproof vegetarian meal. This is part of a series whose other titles include Cocina para diab?ticos (Cooking for Diabetics), La nueva cocina vegetariana (The New Vegetarian Kitchen), and Las ensaladas (Salads). Although this is an excellent source of Mexican-influenced vegetarian recipes, Maitret provides no index, so locating recipes that include a particular ingredient may be difficult. Readers may also have difficulty finding some ingredients, given their Mexican origin. Recommended for large bookstores and public libraries with large Spanish-language collections.
