Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
Gr 2-4--Three series entries that introduce the history of their respective holidays and how they are celebrated. The well-written texts aptly describe the traditions and customs and capture the flavor of the festivals. The open, spacious format makes the books accessible, and the full-color and black-and-white photos lend interest. However, some of them are more filler than substance, and the captions add little or no information. Additional purchases where needed.

Mardis Gras
This book was very informational and covered many aspects of Mardi Gras. The pictures were real, colorful and interesting.
Historical facts and plenty of color photos.
The revised, updated edition of Dianne M. MacMillan's MARDI GRAS joins others in the `Best Holiday Books' series to appeal to grades 3-4. Nearly fifty pages of information on the holiday's origins and enactment include an index, glossary, and bibliography, along with historical facts and plenty of color photos.
