Product Description

VH1 sent ballots to over 700 musicians, songwriters, disc jockeys and radio programmers and asked them to vote on the 100 greatest songs of rock and roll. The results were shown in a much-publicized feature, and selections from that show are here in this awesome collection of the best and most influential rock songs of all time! Songs are arranged by their ranking with artists listed, and include: All Along the Watchtower * American Pie * Blowin' in the Wind * Born to Run * California Dreamin' * Fire and Rain * Good Vibrations * Hey Jude * Hotel California * I Heard It Through the Grapevine * Imagine * In the Midnight Hour * Jump * Layla * Light My Fire * Like a Rolling Stone * London Calling * Louie, Louie * Maggie May * My Generation * No Woman No Cry * Proud Mary * Respect * Roxanne * Smells like Teen Spirit * Stand by Me * Start Me Up * Tangled Up in Blue * Walk This Way * We Are the Champions * Wild Thing * Yesterday * and more.

Good Songbook for a Certain Level4
The interpretations in this songbook do not seem to be as true as those in other Hal Leonard Easy Guitar tab books. Perhaps they rushed this one out because of the VH-1 tie-in. Regardless, the selection is great and pretty fun to play for someone just beyond the basics in learning guitar. A more experienced guitarist should look elsewhere.

Info You Can Use5
You probably could figure out all the music contained here on your own, but this resource makes it easy to convey the music to musicians on different skill levels.

Only 90 songs 3
If there was 3 1\2 stars thats what I would rate it.

The problems I have with this book is:
1.That it only has 90 songs. The other songs (most of them are Rolling Stones ones) it says are ommitted because of licensing stuff.
2. Another problem is that some of the songs are just to easy. I mean some are good but I guess I want songs that are not too hard but not too easy.
3.Some of the songs just sound awful. And its not my guitar at all or my playing. Like, for example, The song Great Balls of Fire. Its really just for piano and it sounds preatty bad on guitar.

Ok on the back of the book it shows a list of all the songs that were voted the best and number one is (I can't get no) Satisfaction.
And it says at the bottom in really small print: "Omitted from this publication because of licensing restrictions." And gives an asterisk (*) next to all the songs that are not in it. Oh and by the way the songs that are NOT in it that are on the list are:
(I can't get no) Satisfaction
Stairway to heaven
Won't get fooled again
Brown Sugar
Sympathy for the Devil
Whole lot of Love
Kashmir
Jumpin' Jack Flash
Rock and Roll
Whole Lotta shakin goin' on.

My guess is that VH1 had a list of the best songs and then they wanted a guitar book about it. And guess what, They couldnt get 10 of those songs. So why bother. Because it would be a lot better with them.

Peace Out
