very versatile trainer
As a personal trainer, I have yet to find a more versatile piece of equipment. It's a great ab and core workout, but I also use it for upper and lower body exercises, with and without weight, as well. I highly recommend this for beginners as well as veterans to exercise. You'll love it.
Too much equipment needed, some choreography is difficult
First, the positives of using the bosu with any workout dvd is that it adds something fresh, fun, utilizes muscles you couldn't otherwise, and helps with building both new muscles and balance.
That said, I gave this dvd stars only for the use of the bosu. Granted the instructor's cueing is ok, but what were they thinking with the equipment needed in order to complete this workout?
YOU WILL NEED: The bosu, a medicine ball, a BASKETBALL, and a PARTNER!
You won't need all of the above of the same time, however. I'll give it that...and don't even think about using the basketball on carpet.
Gather all your sports equipment and an adult to work with you when called for...that's more work than I want to do in order to get in a workout.
Does it provide great cardio? Sure does! I will say that. But many of the moves aren't easy choreography-wise.
Is there something to gain if you are a true athlete? Absolutely. I'm a workout fiend but I am not a basketball player or a football player. However, if you want to do baketball drills, football moves, soccer drills, etc this should help in your sport and it certainly adds great cardio even if you don't play the sport and just wish to master the moves! You'll also do ski drills (moguls back and forth...I liked this.)
CONCLUSION: For me, having to spread out lots of equipment and make sure I find an adult to work with me during the partner section in order to complete the dvd...mkaes me set it aside and use the bosu dvd that came with the bosu. I still love that one...this one is more complication than I desire...but it does provide good cardio for all athletes and that's always a good thing!
Too hard for me right now
This is an excellent instructor but the dvd is too difficult for me now. It is a real sports conditioning dvd and I am just not there yet. I use the other dvds in the series and look forward to when I will be able to do this one. It is definitely my limitations, not the dvd or instructor.
