Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review
James Bond himself probably has a cool cocktail shaker just like this one in his home (although we've never actually seen his home, have we?). Standing 8-1/2 inches tall with the cap on, this bright and shiny Oneida cocktail shaker is made of durable and tasteful 18/8 stainless steel, with a special hand-polished finish that won't tarnish or corrode. It comes with a lifetime warranty, so martinis can be shaken, not stirred, as often as you like. It's also dishwasher-safe, for removing incriminating fingerprints. --Doree Armstrong

Function with classic style4
If you want a great little martini shaker without the outrageous price that some are charging, this is your device.

It's simple, elegant and comes with a built-in strainer at the top. It seals tight for shaking up your martini du jour and serves about four to five large-glassed martinis.

It's also Oneida, and my experience has been that they make decent quality products. So far, it's proven a great purchase.

I like to mix parts vodka with apple pucker and a splash of tonic water to make one of New York's famous apple martinis. Slice up a wedge of granny smith apple and plunk it into your glass and voila, you have it.

The only negative I'd have to say about it is that it's sometimes difficult to get the lid off the top for replenshing and cleaning. But if it wasn't sealed tight you'd have martini all over your kitchen/living room as you shook, so it's a bearable negative. To get it open, you have to pry around the sides of it evenly with your thumbs until it pops loose.

Otherwise don't question the cheap price. This is a great deal, and a great martini shaker.

A great shaker, especially when you look at the price4
I purchased this shaker a few months ago, and we use it quite regularly. I will disagree with another reviewer and say that I don't find the top impossible to get off, but sometimes you do have to work it back and forth. But, when you look at the prices of other cocktail shakers, and factor in the quality of this one, I think having to work the top back and forth is worth the money you'll save. I'd much rather have a tight fitting lid than my drink all over my hands.

One feature I like is that the strainer/lid is deep enough that when you remove the lid, your drink isn't still spilling over the sides.

If you are shopping for a cocktail shaker, then you know how ridiculously priced they can be. Don't think that because this one is less expensive that it is of less quality. This is a sturdy, well-made product.

Our last shaker was plastic and broke after a few short months of regular use. This stainless steel shaker certainly won't have that problem. It is sturdy and attractive at the same time. We use it for much more than martinis, and have certainly not been dissapointed.

Great for Casual Home use4
I bought this a month ago for home use, and find it fabulous. My only complaint and reason for giving it 4 stars is that it is a little bit large and therefore you can't just fill it up on something like a Margarita or you'll have too much sour. I wouldn't want to use this at work! And, being myself a bartender, I would like to say that I have used a good number of different shakers, and have never seen one that had a lid that just popped off, shakers don't do this. Lids stick because the air inside compresses due to the cold and seals the lid tightly. I have also never seen one that screwed off. It is impractical anyways, it is not hard to see if you're on or off. Anywho, hope this is helpful. Happy shaking!
