Why these guys seem so obscure in America I don't know.
Cheap TrickCheap Trick by Cheap Trick
Buy used from: $3.91
This album doesn't have any of the pop hits most people are familiar with (which I also like). This album just plain rocks and is their best work.
The Supersonic StorybookThe Supersonic Storybook by Urge Overkill
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $1.09
Although the production sounds a little tinny to me, it is an awesome album.
One by OneOne by One by Foo Fighters
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $1.95
This album has the best ratio of really good songs to mediocre songs of all the Foo albums. The first 7 songs are worth the price of admission for sure. There definitely is A grade material to find on their other albums, and maybe higher highs, but more filler. I recommend at least picking up the singles "The Pretender," "Erase/Replace," "Stacked Actors," and "Gimme Stitches" from other albums.
Mechanical AnimalsMechanical Animals by Marilyn Manson
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $2.96
This album showcases MM's glam rock talents the best and was the beginning of this direction, much to the dismay of many Antichrist fans. As is the case with most MM albums, there are so many songs you could throw away the bottom third and create a more flawless, still full length album.
The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy StardustThe Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $7.14
Simply, this album is one of the best ever made.
LoveLove by The Cult
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $3.90
I have a soft spot in my heart for this album because I was in high school at the time. This album is just plain great (especially if you haven't heard it 1,000 times).
PhaseshifterPhaseshifter by Redd Kross
Buy used from: $2.05
"Why does a missile look like a co**? Why is the world so fu**ed up?" "Saragon, retarded man of steel..." Goofy glam rock punkers at their best.
No. 4No. 4 by Stone Temple Pilots
Buy new: $13.96 / Used from: $0.74
I can't leave these guys off a rock list. This is my favorite STP album.
Talk ShowTalk Show by Talk Show
Buy used from: $0.60
STP with a different singer. Sounds kinda Cheap Trick if anything. Those De Leo boys play catchy music.
On the LineOn the Line by Vain
Buy new: $17.98 / Used from: $11.99
Really great work from a glam metal rocker from the nineties. More rock/ballad/trippy than metal.
What's the Story Morning Glory (Multi/Stero)What's the Story Morning Glory (Multi/Stero) by Oasis
Buy used from: $20.92
Immature jerks or not, these guys wrote some great songs. The nasal voice really works.
A Northern SoulA Northern Soul by The Verve
Buy new: $16.98 / Used from: $4.46
Gloomy Brits doing the rock.
Lust for LifeLust for Life by Iggy Pop
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $4.46
I like many of Iggy's albums, but this one is great and fits this rock n' roll list the best. Punk and metal is another list. (I can't believe Frodo is going to play him.)
Don't Say NoDon't Say No by Billy Squier
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $2.75
How to rock. (Billy should have omitted "Nobody Knows." Guess he wanted to show he was human.)
