Haynes Repair Manual for a Ford Escape3
Why does this company have to publish these auto repair volumes on paper little better then toilet tissue? The information is fair to good, but with the poor quality paper, the photographs are almost useless for ready reference. $15- $17 is an OK price, just don't pay the list of $25. My rating would be 2.5 (50-50) if allowed.

MAZDA Auto Repair manual4
Nothing fancy. B&W photo's help the reader graphically. The info for the repair I made (Struts) was correct. It's cheap enough that you save a ton of $ doing the repair yourself to buy the book. Highly recommended.

Some Misses3
Over the years, I've previously purchased Haynes manuals for Toyota's, Dodge's, Saturn's, VW's and now Mazda. This Mazda manual similarly has some areas that are simply overlooked and / or leave you guessing. Do not expect the Haynes manuals to be a "How To" for all aspects. To be fair, I don't believe any one manual does that. To cover all areas, you may need manuals from several authors. If you want "One Stop Advice", the online services may meet your needs.
In any route, don't forget to talk with the folks at the parts shop.
I use Haynes as one tool in the tool box. One point of reference.
Don't be fooled by the Haynes subtitle "... a complete tear down and rebuild". Although they may have done that, it is not all documented in this book.
I am a weekend warrior - some tasks I leave to the pros and use the Haynes book only to 'self educate myself' prior to making an appointment with the Shop. Other tasks I use Haynes and other sources to execute.
