Part of Delos's 'Caribbean Carnival Series' is this lively collection of steelband traditions from Trinidad and Tobago alone, STEELBANDS OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO: unusual among the wealth of group-specific recordings or those which embrace the entire Caribbean. Surprise: there are no liner notes of band history - but a fine essay on how to build a steel pan drum.
Wow, can't stop my dancing feet!
This CD kicks! The "Pan in A Minor" cut alone is worth the cost of the entire CD. You can't stop your feet from dancing when you listen to this piece - over 9 1/2 minutes of near-manic, hard-charging, heart-stopping, driving pan music that is UNBELIEVABLE! The best piece of music I may have ever heard!
Uplifting, invigorating, distinctly fresh music
Even with the remake of popular (sometimes overplayed) songs, this music is so refreshing it is a must for anyone's collection...it is not something you want to hear every day, but when you are down and need a little perking up, this will do the trick!!!
