Product Description
Forget the O.C., we've got the W.P.! The popular Caribbean soap opera, Westwood Park, weaves the story of the Du Soleil and Gunn-Munroe families, whose affluent lifestyles and picture-perfect smiles become less than idyllic on closer inspection. The manipulative and power-hungry Herbert dominates teh Gunn-Munroe clan, while the conscious and upstanding Jonathan heads the Du Soleil family. In Season One, the two families, residents of the affluent Westwood Park neighbourhood, are locked in a tenuous friendship, underscored by intrigue and passion, as they approach their unification through the impending marriage of their children. This delicate relationship is tested even more when the sexy and alluring Maya descends upon Westwood Park, unleashing demons from the past and throwing the lives of its inhabitants into utter turmoil. Set in lush and luxurious locations rarely seen in Caribbean dramas, Westwood Park is driven by the universal topics of love, hate, power, lust, greed, corruption, romance, heartbreak and the strife for social justice and consciousness.

Editorial Reviews
Review
Westwood Park ho! On alternate Fridays, the BC DVD ABC either declares compulsory DVD library selections for anyone serious about building a DVD library or reviews new (or at least newish) DVD releases, whether good or bad. On the best days, a selection qualifies on both grounds. For the Caribbean cinefiles, at least, today is a double-barrel Friday. Today s pick is: Westwood Park, Season One (2006 [TV Series aired 1997] Trinidad & Tobago Soap Opera) Westwood Park is no literary worth. With a script that flew (and more often crash-landed) by the seat of its pants, with characters being written in or out of episodes according to their availability that week, with episode-lengths sometimes made up by pure ratchifee, WP s mere existence was its raison d'etre, as well as a monument to the will and perseverance of everyone involved, most notably director Diffenthaller. Virtually everyone who was ever on stage in Trinidad and several who should never have been found their way into the cast. The four-disc DVD boxed set is a straight burn of the episodes delivered for screening and contains nothing at all by way of extras, unless you count the excellent Earth TV music videos shown during the credits (until the misguided introduction, in the final episode of season one, of bloopers that annihilated in 30 seconds an illusion barely sustained for the preceding 30 minutes). Still, it remains a treat to watch, all the more so since the DVD-remote comes with a fast-forward button. Recommended like a doubles and a red s ee drink in a Toronto, with a blizzard raging outside. --Trinidad Express

Just the beginning of a classic...
This show is one of those totally surprising behind the scenes ones that no one would have expected to make it big. Lol ok it didnt really make it big but it really is one of those series that just gets better and better as time goes by. Though not initially intended as a comedy it is a truly hilarious experience as it gives a nostalgic slightly overdone and pseudo-semi-realistic portrayal of Trini-life. Liming, commess, ah set ah bacchanal not to mention macos everywhere!!!...Can't wait for the later seasons to see the "where is Mr. Du Soleil" storyline. All in all a true trini cyah go wrong getting this set.
Hilarious!
This is just so so hilarious! It reminds me a bit of when I used to go to the plays in the Central Bank Auditorium in POS. I loved Westwood Park and I have the First Season DVD set. I would totally collect the DVD series if they are released. I presently live abroad and whenever I need a good dose of home (which is actually fairly often), I just pop in Westwood Park and I get instant kicks! Now granted, the acting is by absolutely no means believable... and the dialogue even less so. Just don't expect anything even in the realm of Emmy or Oscar material. Still, I thoroughly enjoy it. I'm waiting anxiously to purchase the rest of the seasons. PLEASE RELEASE THEM!! I want them all! I mean, really, it's just toooooo funny :)
