Product Description

LaStone therapy blends the ancient Native American art of stone massage with modern bodywork techniques. It is growing in popularity as a way of providing relief for stiff and aching muscles, improving circulation and bringing about deep relaxation and rejuvenation. This manual: explains the principles behind LaStone therapy—what it is and what it does; details the health benefits; reveals how LaStone provides deeper, more sustained massage than conventional methods; explains the Native American traditions which underpin LaStone; provides a list of therapists and resources; explains how basalt and marble stones are heated and placed under soft towels at the body's energy points including the hands, along the back, the stomach and the forehead; reveals how cooled stones are also used to soothe inflammation and to comfort tired eyes, or are used in conjunction with heated stones as a form of thermotherapy; and outlines what you can expect from a treatment.

Customer Reviews

Useless1
I am a massage therapist and was looking for a book on how to incorporate hot stones into my massages. I was EXTREMELY dispappointed with this book it is more of an advertisement for "La Stone" classes. Don't spend your money.

One book that I should have read the reviews on first!!1
No Kidding!!! I was looking for a book on hot stone technique, and thinking that this book was authorized by the founder of this wonderful modality, it should have been full of neat ideas and techniques to incorporate into my sessions. What A Crock! It's a fairly decent history lesson, at best I find it a thinly veiled advertisment for La Stone.

Good Theory and Care of Stones4
This book is for those who already know how to use the stones in practice. The writer intends for you to learn more about the theory behind the stones and caring for your stones. I found it very interesting.
