Wild jungle beat music
Chaino's music is hard to describe, but once you've heard it you won't forget it. Often mis-filed under "lounge" or "easy listening," Chaino rocks far more than Esquivel or Enoch Light. Basically, it is '50s Hollywood-style African percussion, but crazier than most. You may already know Chaino as his stuff has appeared as background music in the movie "Forces of Nature" and on the TV shows "Sex and the City" and "The Real World." This CD contains material from his various '50s albums. Fans of the "Las Vegas Grind" series should really dig Chaino.
Chaino, a true genius.
I've been a fan of all kinds of music, especially primitive rhythms, for many years, and have a great respect for, the origin of music. I cannot believe what this man Chaino has done to african music . He is the first congo drummer who not only has reinvented primitive percussion, but for the first time, I can enjoy listening to his work. Though still a fan of african drumming, I have always found it boring to listen to until Chaino brought life into it, giving it a new meaning. This CD is so different, I can't describe it. I can't find a musical catagory for it. This could be a beginning of a new sound if some music producer could incorporate it into rock or in other ways and create new primitive dances for the kids to enjoy instead of the negative, demoralizing and demeaning rap music.
Excellent CD
This CD has it, yes Chaino was ahead of his time. I find myself listening to nothing but this disc. You have got to get one to truly appreciate it.
