Customer Reviews
Cheaply made and too expensive - explore your options
I ordered the InnerPulse from a major online wellness retailer, and after two weeks of use, I'm not terribly impressed.
The glasses are EXTREMELY cheaply constructed. Ordered separately, the TruWhite glasses cost $110. To look at them, it would appear that they can't cost a hundredth of that. This isn't hyperbole. They appear to be of a $1.10 Chinese manufacture.
The InnerPulse box itself is similarly shoddy. The batteries take an enormous amount of coaxing to stay in. The AC adaptor hole looks as if it was drilled with a cheap drill bit. The user manual is a color photocopy. The box is a plain white box. The cables are extremely flimsy as well.
Everything in the box - from the light glasses to the unit to the earphones to the cords to the manual screams CHEAP. I do not have high hopes for the longevity of this unit. I ask myself "Where did my $235 go?!" - and I have no answer.
To make matters worse, the Light/Sound designer software does not come with the unit. It's an extra $40 add-on. While it does come free with other Photosonix units - it's not standard with the Innerpulse. Beware!
The light/sound programs are interesting, but will take more use to comment on fully. However, given the lack of upgradability thanks to Photosonix' excessive pricing for their program design software - I, again, have less than high hopes for the long-term usefulness of the unit. I refuse to pour another $40 into this cheap machine.
Though I've never used the Proteus machine, were I to have it to do over again, I would certainly choose it over the InnerPulse. If for no other reason than because it includes, free, the design software necessary to make these machines truly useful.
